it's no secret who i am on...the defense will be there regardless of the van der wiel suspension....will be interesting to see who the de jong replacement will be...there is an array of players/lineups to choose from...robben should dominate down the wing again v. the uruguay back up fullback...feeling here is that uruguay is depleted too much fer the dutch offensive possession and pace...u can only back up the bus in front of the net for so long before the tires get slashed and the windows become shards of glass...coach van marwijk has stressed the importance of not taking uruguay lightly, at any cost...the russia game of euro '08 still lingers in his mind... go oranje...cheers
to me it depends on who takes the de jong role...if de zeeuw fills in think the clean sheet is a definite possibility...if they go with an elia or van der vaart the 2-1 3-1 combo seems more likely....i am not into predicting actual scores...i just wanna see the win....cheers
few things...diego forlan just made himself a boatload of ca$h whenever his contract comes back up and suarez no doubt was sorely missed...stecklenburg proved what i had thought would be a sore spot-his positioning on the goal line(lucky 4 him they won)....de jong's absence proved more relevant than i initially thought...de zeeuw looked shellshocked especially after the boot in the face..thought van marwijk was trying to prove a point with bringing van der vaart in to put a boot in the ass of the offense...didn't get to excited with that switch(preferred elia coming in)but alas a win was in the stars....robben is oh so dangerous when given a seam to run into(but his lack of right foot is embarrassing)...sneijder has grown on me(though he seems to be the catalyst for the typical dutch malaise they go thru every match...though he seems to be the one to bring them out of it also)...dirk kuyt is the dennis rodman of dutch futbol..always in the middle of it all and never refusing to get dirty....and finally, van pussy...play van der vaart instead, if he is gonna continue to be a child...arjen robben plays a great match goes off and the whole team salutes him...where is van pussy? up the pitch w/o a clue..robben heads home the winner and the team throws them selves on him...where is van pussy walking casually towards the pile with a golf clap....as the TEAM pulls another one out..van pussy stays w/ his immature ways...made me laugh when he had an open way to net early in the 2nd half and sneijder did a complete 180 to pass down the opposite wing to robben...anyway a win is a win..and i am very pleased to see them in the final with one more hurdle to climb...go oranje...cheers
